if you have set the ports to forward to YOUR ip address on the router then thats all u need aye.

make sure u forward whatever ports tho to your local IP - else it wont work.

What sleepy means in english (well sort of :p ):

You router will work with private (local/intneral) IP addresses and a public (external/WAN) IP address.

If you go to start, run, then type 'cmd' - at the command prompt type 'ipconfig'

It will say something about a network card, but more importantly, there will be a line that says "IP Address", which is probably either going to be along the lines of 10.0.0.x or 192.168.0.x (where X is a number) and this is your local/private address.

so when you set up the port forward, you put in the torrent ports, and then it should be forwarded to this local IP, think of it as a tunnel through your firewall.

    And thats it.

I eventually sorted my prob after contacting manufacturers. It would only let me forward ports with a range of 20!
So instead I had to enable DMZ or summat, put my ip address in and it automatically forwards all ports apparently.

It works now anyhoo..... well part from DC++ :spangled:

Putting your PC into a DMZ isnt the best idea from a security perspective...like you say it forwards all ports and you shouldnt have to do that to use specific applications.

Sounds like a fairly crap bit of kit really....how much did you pay for it? Just seems so limited!

Me too. I can normally suss things meself or find a guide to do it and I''m sorted but it was a right pain in the arse. I mean that portforward.com site is good but it dint have my router on it!

And the version before was completely different. The manual/refs they give with the products are bullshit too! No help whatsoever.
