    Fires, help!

Anyone know if you can get rid of a gas fire from the livingroom and use the exsisting backboiler with a woodburning stove instead?

you want to be careful with a wood burning fire...my mates house nearly caught fire cos the logs stacked near it heated up & sparked... :(

If the backboiler is gas at the mo, you'll have to get a new wood-burning one I think

we've always had an open fire until now, hence why we want to
get rid of the gas if possible. I hate gas.

We only want a 1 door woodburner, you can get them for around £250.....the one's with the back boiler are about £600

would it be cheaper just to get a new one with a back boiler or convert the exsisting one?

    I wondered about that myself:lol:

wood burning stove - you'll presumably need to get your chimney swept / make sure it's not blocked so best to check out the price of that before forking out for the stove etc.
