    Fergie sets sights on Owen

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson wants to partner Wayne Rooney with England colleague Michael Owen at Old Trafford next season.

Ferguson has seen his Red Devils finish the season a massive 18 points adrift of new champions Chelsea in the Premiership.

And one of the main reasons for their failure on both the domestic and European front has been a dearth of goals - with United scoring just 58 goals in 38 league games compared to the Blues' 72 and Arsenal's 87.

Ferguson has pinpointed Owen as the man he wants to spend Malcolm Glazer's cash on.

Will it be the end of the road @ OT for Man Of Glass Louis Saha or Red Rose Lover Alan Smith?

    It could be Ruud:eek:

MANCHESTER United are ready to swap Ruud Van Nistelrooy for Real Madrid hitman Michael Owen.

Despite their £68million forward line, the Reds have scored only 58 league goals this season and Sir Alex Ferguson reckons Owen could be the solution to their striking problems.

RVN is one of the best finish's I have EVER seen.

It would be mad to sell him but if he wants to go nowt they can do. Id like to see him stay eps after Fergie waited for him when he got his serious injury the day before signing for MAN UTD.

Owen would be a great buy tho I am sure Man U can afford 8mill

liverpool only sold him for that cause he was entering the final year of his contract so wanted to cash in instead of letting him go on a bosman. around 18million would tempt them to sell

rvd is miles better than owen imo, the spanish league isnt half as hard for strikers as the premiership, imo owens been made to look better than he is :)
