Ive after moving all my monitors and stuff around ive connected them up to my mixer and PC and im gettin this 'hiss' from the speakers when connected up.

My speakers are connected to my mixer directly (active ones obviously) and ive connected my laptop into my mixer via its headphone output to a line input.

If i do something on my laptop e.g fire up a program or minimise a window it get feedback through the speakers. There also a constant hissing sound that you can hear even when no musics being played.

    help me

Have you moved it to a different power socket?

if so then there lies your problem, its a pretty common problem if the wiring in your house is pretty old

could be a lot of things, shit cables, crap inputs on mixer or crap outputs on laptop. Do your audio cables cross over powerleads or are they next to any powerleads?

hmm... does it work taking it from a headphone out socket? turn it up/down on the physical volume control (on the outside of the laptop) see if it makes any difference.

I think its something to do with my laptop power pack. When i disconnect it from the laptop and run it off battery alone the hiss is less prominent.

My connectors are pretty shit aswell like.

Its probably the wiring in your house then

Had this problem at our old flat, was a right pain.....i think you can get something called a Ground Loop which will sort it, but im not sure....either that or rewire your house
