Favourite Essential Mix I nearly always record the essential mix on radio1 and have done for a few years. What's your favourite ever one (excluding live ones) Was listening to a tape the other day by Timmy S who won Muzik Bedroom Bedlam a few years ago. Absolutely brilliant breaks and tech-house set
pete tong going down now he hardly ever plays trance now. At least a few years back he played a bit of trance
Cass and Slide's one they did is definitely up there, proper wierd accapellas and film music with quality breakbeat.
I only heard a bit of it, seemed okay but then I fell asleep. James Zabiela's Essential mix was pretty good too.
as was ashley casselles james zabiela is space ressie aint he, all that from being a bedroom dj, lucky bastard
Lucien Foort's March 2001 is my fave! But the Scumfrog one, Gabriel & Dresden's, Oaky's Goa are all v enjoyable ones too
Scott Bond 1999 - Flanged to death it was but its PVD - GCSSS 2001 - "Nu NRG - Dreamland" last tune PVD - Berlin Love Parade 2002
I've got a video of him jumping around like a proper goon at the end of the parade, but it was a fucking mint tune he had on.
Re: Re: Favourite Essential Mix I put that in cos it would be too easy to pick a live one especially if you were there. I think if you are doing a 2 hour studio mix for the essential mix they should put a lot of preparation into it (not saying that they shouldn't for a live set). A DJ called Freddy Fresh spent about 120 hours preparing his and used over 80 records and samples in a 120 min mix - fact!
