Fat Freddy blames Robson Newcastle chairman Freddy Shepherd has blamed former manager Sir Bobby Robson for the feud between Graeme Souness and Craig Bellamy. Striker Bellamy is considering a £6million move to Birmingham after a public falling out with Souness, who is Robson's successor. Shepherd believes Robson's failure to take a "harder line" with Bellamy led to problems with the player. "Graeme Souness has been unfairly blamed for what has happened in the past week. "But the seeds of the Craig Bellamy situation were sown before he arrived at the club. "Many of the problems Graeme is having to deal with are down to the way the previous manager handled discipline. "If Sir Bobby Robson had taken a harder line, I am convinced we would not be facing this situation." Robson got involved in the row between Souness and Bellamy when he said: ``What has happened does not come as a surprise because he (Bellamy) and Graeme had a fall-out almost as soon as Graeme took over. "At one stage I gather he (Souness) had Craig by the throat and threw him to the ground, so they didn't exactly start on a good footing." Robson's comments enraged Shepherd, who told the Sunday Mirror: "Sir Bobby Robson had no business commenting on Bellamy last week and making allegations about what he thought had happened in the dressing room." http://itv-football.co.uk/Teams/Newcastle_United/story_141963.shtml
