Every time i re-start me PC my homepage is changed to www.fastsearch.com or some sort of search enging - i have constantly deleted my temporary internet files etc and cookies but it seems when the PC is turned on then off it just goes back to the shit that i dont want !

I have just installed some spyware thing to see if there was anything it could find but nowt - whats going on ???

I also get loads of shitty pop-ups when i go to ceratin pages like the mssage boards and that !

    Cheers

I get the same thing, used to go to 'Findthewebsiteyouneed'

but theres a way to change who you connect to when you first go online, i think its in the help and support center. (depends what version you have), just put in the address of your web provider.

As for pop ups, hate hate hate them and the only thing you can do is firewall (i think) or buy the software they popup every 15th time!

I just fixed exactly the same problem the other day for a mate, same site and everything.

Even when you run ad aware etc, the problem remains.....its a sneaky barstool in the way that it edits several keys in your registry, not just the home page one.

    Heres what you do:

    Start > Run > Regedit

    Then:

Select HKEY_CURRENT_USER from the left window.
Choose SOFTWARE > MICROSOFT > INTERNET EXPLORER

Then, click the MAIN that comes down from the internet explorer folder.

When you get to there, you need to change:

    Search Page
    Search Page_bak
    Start Page
    Start Page_bak
and indeed anythin else with fastsearch in it, but i doubt it will be more than that.

To modify the data in a registry key:

Right click on the title, eg "Start Page", select MODIFY and the "Edit String" box will appear

simply enter the full web addy that you want for each page.

Give it a restart, and that should be problem solved
