    haha feck you :p

anti-war march will be a waste of time my arse!

its estimated 2 million marchers were in london... the police estimate 750,000 were there but then said "The police estimate of 750,000 people could be an underestimation due to people bypassing official routes or going straight to Hyde Park without joining the main march".... Its a known fact most people didn't start at the start as there were far 2 many people! The government take people for retards.... like driving tanks round london when the only threat to the capital is terrorism.

It isn't just the UK either in the weirdest of places there has been huge anti war marches, take tel aviv where both jews and arabs have united to opose the war.

You both told me us muslim loving tree huggers were wasting our time protesting... but with numbers of this size the governments will be forced to listen... there is already huge opposition within the labour government :D :D :D

how can a public demonstration ever be a waste of time? The Gov isn't going to war to win votes, but that is usually the only thing politicians are ever interested in. Joining in on a public demonstration is the only way to tell the gov that you disagree with them.

If there was only one, no-one would listen. 750,000 is a lot of people who feel strongly enough to waste a Saturday standing in a park. If there'd been 5 mill, would the gov listen then?

When I was younger I used to the the CND was a complete waste of time. They campaigned for years, hippy women camping at Greenham Common for years, the gov just ignored them. Until it got to a point where there was enough of them for political parties be interested in thier votes, then they start listening.

If you don't protest when your gov is doing something you don't like, you lose your right to coplain about it. Apathy keeps shit govs in power

    I agree completely

there was well over 750,000 though, that was the lowest estimation and they even say it was an underestimation.... realistic figures are betweem 1 n 2 million.

lol, thought you were taking the piss asking where france is. Yeah it is full of French, which kinda spoils a beautiful country...

The French gov (with Germany, Russia, China) are opposing war at present, so no need to protest, unless anyone was protesting that thier gov aint goin to war!

I was at the London demo & all I can say is...

I've never seen so many people!!

It took us 5/6 hrs to walk from kingsX to Hyde Park!!! (the organisers had estimated 2hrs)
& we were no means the last... there was still an endless mass of people arriving after us!!!

I don't know how u count the actual amount because there was people coming at different points, others leaving before they got to Hyde Park but a helluva lot of people got off their arses to be there...does that make us all muslim loving tree huggers like Joe? ;) he he

George Bush is a f*cking nut case, the only reason he's starting on Iraq is solely due to the oil, hes trying to build an american empire. Theyll start on iraq whether they have Nukes or not

    Thats my 2pence worth anyway

Mark I've read about a black man who wanted to join the kkk.... It doesn't mean the kkk aren't racist...

Truth is hundreds of thousands of people could be killed because of the actions of one man.... If this war truely was about saddam then it could be settled quite easily by removing saddam form power.

hundreds of thousands of people shouldn't have their lives devistated because of the actions of one dictator.

Exactly... hopefully this war will backfire in his face... after the gulf war there were huge economical reprecusions.... The american economy is already in a lot of shit... I doubt a war will do any good.

Only good that will hopefully come out of this is bush wont be re-elected... the man is a nut case.

:) European Leaders have agreed to give Saddam one last chance to comply to the UN resolution. Thank fuck. Better go find some evidence now

EU moves to heal Iraq divisions

    From The Times
"Opponents of the war may regard this moral relatively as most unfair. Launching wars against dictators because of their murderous activities at home is a policy that might have no end. Yet Mr Blair and those who support the stand he takes have to bear the moral burden of being prepared to countenance war and the deaths it will bring. It is perfectly reasonable to ask the marchers to contemplate the moral price of the policy they propose"*

that sums up the dilema pretty well for me

The Iraqi people have no illusions about Saddam Hussein
