Fao Jambon (update) Cordone banned for two years Former Newcastle striker Daniel Cordone has been banned for two years by the Argentinian Football Association for a second failed drugs test. The San Lorenzo player was given a three-month suspension in April 2003 after testing positive for the banned substance tetrahydrocannabinol, which is found in marijuana. However, on 14 February this year Cordone was again found with traces of the substance in his body after playing for San Lorenzo in their opening closing championship match against Chacarita. Because it was the second time Cordone had tested positive for the substance, the Argentinian FA have now decided to suspend the 29-year-old for two years. Cordone, who joined the Magpies from Racing Club in June 2000, will not be able to play again until 1 March 2006.
