    FAO board photographers!

I think Messy is one & someone else I believe!
Anyways how did you get into this? You do degree/college course? Think is I did as & a level art - well got half way into me a-level then had to drop out! Anyways, did bit of photography and I'm just trying to sort me future out at the min!
Would it be worth doing such a course @ college/uni? IF you did such a course, what jobs prospects did you have when you finished? Was it easy to get one? Was the course worth it? Ever htought of starting your own little business - would this be a possiblity?
All info much much much helpfull!
    Cheers!

I wouldnt mind doing it as a hobby! Cos im a geek like that! :)

Im still at college - I started A levels and didnt like em so i finished one year and started a two year course doing this media! So ive got another year before *fingers crossed* I come to uni in Newcastle.

What are you doing now? I think if you wanted to do just photography i would imagine it's only a one year course (still dont quote me though) Is it not worth doing that and other things ie gcse's to get more subjects behind ya - so when ya leave you'll be better off? Thats of course if your not working full time - it would be diffecult if so!

    Hope that helps ya :)

At the min got part time job @ St. James!:D
Your right though if I only have like p/time course will probs finish A-levels off whislt doing it or something like that! Not just a 12hours per week thing. Will get an interview with college and see what they say!
    Cheers!

i did an a level, which was a complete waste of time to be honest. all theory and no practical.

i did an NCTJ course once id got a job on a paper, which was gr8.

best thing to do is get wrk ex

depends wot sort of photography u wanna do

if u soley wanna do press fotography its best to get in now rather than do a degree...the NCTJ course is equivalent to a degree but is geared towards news/law etc

Right cheers for that! Don't think I wanna get into press stuff though! Thats the thing call me dumb but not sure where I'd go after! Yeah I'm interested in it, but job prospect where to go? Thats why I asked before after I finished a course what would be open to me? Was thinking along lines bout little business - something along those lines! Weddings pictures etc. My Dad's mate does that so seeing him for some tips/hints etc.

id seriously think about weddings...although the moneys good, they are always on weeknds and can become very dull and boring

if u chose press.......its diferent everyday and can be really exciting. you get to meet a lot of people...famous too.

if u wanna be creative then i spose traveling/magazine (specialist etc) would be the rite direction to go in.

if u want money out of it...then defo go for P.R/advertising etc.

all depends.....sounds like u wanna be more creativce, in which case a degree would be more beneficial.
