By the end of the month apparently, tickets go on sale and site gans live 01/02/10.

Reading on Twitter that apparently it's going to be more expensive as the acts booked are 'bigger' and it's going to be over three days, with the dance stage still being on the Sunday. Just gonna get shit if you ask me....depending on who they get on like.

I'm still betting on Booka Shade to Headline the dance area.
I have zero to go on other than they're supposedly playing Newcastle sometime this year.
But... if I was a betting man I'd deffo have a flutter!

I can remember watching Asian Dub Foundation when it used to take place in North Shields.

I miss it being there actually.

Aye, it was the fish quay, then the Window on the World, then the Orange Festival.

Used to go there as a proper nipper.
The bootleg beatles were the headliners once too.

It was class getting smashed and watching the plight of some of the radgees outside the new Dolphin.

Crossroads For DHW - Does he posts what he knows & when the lineup comes out we all go "you were right" or does he wait till the lineup comes out & posts "I knew they were booked" & we all think "Yeah righto"

    recall

    orange evolution

    freevolution - free

    threevolution - three quid

    before long tenquid or fifteenquidolution

ask yourself who runs (and take all of the money) from all of the bars...maybe spence can help me here

Give over you massive pencil, it now charges because of expanded line up's and the lack of a large corporate a la Orange, yes it makes a few quid for a couple of local 'old boys' but at least they are doing something.

when arts council money and lottery money is used to set something up where then all the bar take goes to maybe 1 or 2 people i am sure thats fine and dandy aye???

re"at least they are doing something"

clubland extreme and ultimate clubland do something but that aint saying that something is good.

we have a difference of opinion. deal with it

Is there really that much money made from it though?

There's obviously a lot more costs to it than just booking a few bands/DJs for a club night, so I doubt anyone on here has a real knowledge of the true cost.

You can make your presumptions Melt, but that's all they are.

forks we aint on about what the festival makes

we are on about the few individuals who have the running of the bar sewn up / stitched up ooops I mean organised:wink::wink::wink:

it seems a shame that a festival that has been set up using grants and arts funding etc... should be raped by a few , wahtever the good intentions are

    rant over

well it's true that not one of the pubs in Sheilds ever put a penny into the festival during which they were stowed out with punters spending loads.I guess they will do what they can get away with
