    Evil Trojan!!!!

Arrrgh I cant get rid of one sneaky trojan called Startpa.a

Have ran various programs - Ad-Aware, Spybot, The Cleaner, About:Buster, Clean Up, TrojanRemover. None of them can get rid of it. When I run Trend House Call it recognises it as an uncleanable trojan but when I go to delete it manually the folder it is in doesn't exist! Tried googling it without any success either.

Anyone got any ideas what I can do?

HijackThis won't get rid of it, will get rid of some of it if you really know what you're doing, otherwise don't bother with it.

What av program detected it? Whichever one did, go on their website because they must have removal instructions in their virus databases. (or how the fuck would they know what to call the virus/trojan, in this instance startpa.a

Try using TDS-3: http://tds.diamondcs.com.au/ - you'll have to manually update it, plus read the faq before using it - but it's very efficient at detecting mutexes and removing them.

As an aside, does the folder that housecall lists have an address like C:\program files\bollocks\tits\arse/fadge\flange\fudge.clit , ie, have a / hidden in the address somewhere?

It didnt have a / in the name, but it was in a temp internet folder.

I found it using HouseCall but am trying AVG to see if that sorts out the problem
