In respone to the arrogant geordies and people alike such as illuminous_alex (who bites the hand that feeds him by the way). i have lived in newcastle for 4 years and over the last 3 years newcastle has been transformed from being a NOTHING city to a vibrant thriving and cultured city that is still growing. The place is meant to be one of thge TOP 10 PARTY CITIES IN THE WORLD. BOLLOX!!!! THE BARS DONT EVEN HAVE 2AM LICENCES. It has one brilliant and recognised dance club and an emerging dance scene as well as the best prog productionists of 2003 (lexicon avenue if need you ask). Liverpool is brimming with culture and has a choice of 5 areas each with different personalities for nightlife and as my home city i feel i have to defend the decision so all of you egotistical assholes who havent even been to liverpool, get on with your life and make your own city better
    cheers

I've been to Liverpool on several occassions. Even broke my nose on a pavement there at 3am. Like Newcastle, it has its gud and bad points. Wudn't say it was better tho but I'm bound to be biased bcos I know a lot more about Newcastle than Liverpool.

Like I said in another thread, I believe it came down to politics in the end and not which city was best.

That wasn't the only factor tho. As clubbers, we look at it from that point of view but I doubt the judges placed too much importance on this.

liverpool has 2am licences in most bars, in mattew st and concerts square/slater st areas.

    cream

    bugged out

    garlands

smalled nights that get premier league djs like aztec, chibuku shake shake, circus circus, generate, accelerate, stratergy, alien resonance.

to be fair as much as i am not a fan of liverpool, the night life is excellent.

Aztec's getting worse and worse DJs every month, but I agree Chibuku is rapidly becoming something big.

    Circus just book average DJs.

    Manchester's where it's at - CasaMusica ;)
