I hadnt even heard of him before they entered the bidding lottery for the fucker - and surely he cant be better than the likes of Lampard / Gerrard ?!?! He's a really good player French player of the year and he's still only young. Chelski dont need him tho imo they'll end up buying him for the sake of it so nobody else gets him. There was rumours all last season that Manchester United wanted him as their eventual successor to Keane then all of a sudden Chelsea want him when they already have Makele, Lampard, Cole, Robben & Duff plus fringe players they had. Seem a coincidence that they enter the race for and buy Wright Phillips after all the talk was he would go to Arsenal and now the same with Essien with Man Utd. Just seems to me that Chelsea are buying anyone their rivals see as big buys because they can afford too...........Exactly how Rangers & Celtic used to buy any player in the SPL who scored against them and was a threat to them.
Probably Chelsea will pay 35 million and Lyon want a chelsea player which probably would be Jarosik as he Chelsea weaker midfielder but they dont need Essien at all
