ESPN new home of UFC from 3rd of August 2009 UPDATE: ESPN looks to be the permanent home of the UFC in the UK It’s been a long time coming but it looks as though the new home of the UFC in the UK could have been decided. This may come as good news to most, but the news isn’t as good as you may think. An article on iFight365 gives details of the new arrangement, but it looks as though it won’t come quite in time. ESPN are set to launch a new channel in the UK called “ESPN”, however it won’t launch until August 3rd. Where as this is too late for UFC 100, it is settling to finally know where we will be watching UFC in the UK from now on. The UFC also confirmed to iFight365 that regardless of ESPN coming to the game late so to speak, UFC 100 will still air live in the UK. The new channel will cost £9 to Sky customers and £12 to non Sky customers. It is not known yet whether the subscription will extend to Freeview customers. The subscription seems to be similar to Setanta, showing UFC, Premiership games and some other US sports which ESPN already has the rights to broadcast. By Rory Logan
