Reverb was a weekly hi gloss / lo budget night that joined the dots and blurred the boundaries between house, broken beats, electro, techno, through to drum n bass.

Justin Mills and Antony Daly were the initial residents, from its humble beginnings in December 2000, in Scotland Yard (former Powerhouse), on Waterloo St, Newcastle.

Reverb lasted a year there. They took care of the soundtrack in the main room, with tracks from Europe, Detroit, Chicago and America's West Coast. I dare say that the likes of Playgroup and Chicken Lips and labels like Clone and Viewlexx, got their first airing in Newcastle via them during that 12 months
They were fortunate enough to play alongside the likes of Carl Craig, Andrew Weatherall, DJ Bone, Vince Watson, Baby Ford, Paul Mac, Radioactive Man, Christian Smith, Billy Nasty, Mark Broom and Mr C. - also hosting parties for well respected labels like Soma and Eukatech.

In the Summer of 01, Reverb was involved in hosting Grooverider's show, live from Reverb, at the ill fated Newcastle Love Parade. Sarah Cox turned up at door and asked to be shown to 'somewhere quiet', only to be told in no uncertain terms that there were 1000 people in there 'Gannin Mental'..she didn't hang around long.

They called time on the weekly Reverb parties in 2001, but continued to host one offs, keeping their hands in with 2 parties at The Castle Keep, and once again, playing their mix of house, electro, techno and also italo - seemingly before the vast majority picked up on that sound.

These days Justin could possibly be found concentrating on producing, not djing too much, eating nice food and preparing for Fatherhood.

Daly can be stepped across and tutted at, anywhere between Tokyo and TD Towers. He helps to promote Suono, a sporadic, but quality club night that has played host to Electrofunk legend, Greg Wilson, Manchester's hugely influential, A Certain Ratio, and brought the awesome 2020 Sound System, to toon, for their Newcastle debut. As well as that, he dj's at Suono Sundays - a monthly Balearic party, held on the rooftop at Tokyo..A bit of a departure to the music that was played at Reverb, but hopefully with the same attention to detail, and seeking out some well offside music for your pleasure.. Add to that, he knocks out more mix cds than a benefits office full of female teenage charvas on HRT could knock out bairns....
