England's centre back partnership for the World Cup????

    Who would you play?

I think after the season John Terry's had he deserves a place in the first team. Captain marvel, he has been outstanding and after being dropped by Sven for Ferdinands comeback he has improved immensly.

I would go for Terry and Ferdinand.

Sol Campbell has had an average season, he is picking up a lot of injuries and hasnt looked himself at all so i would drop him.

    Its definitely our strongest position.

I think all of the following are good enough.

    Ferdinand
    Brown
    Terry
    Woodgate
    Campbell
    Southgate
    Upson
    Carragher
    King

I think you have to play a footballer at international level. Campbell and Terry are just stoppers (bloody good ones though).

Personally id go for a pair who are both comfortable on the ball, ie Ferdinand, with Brown or Woodgate alongside. Thats never gonna happen though. Its basically between Campbell and Terry for the second spot, and tbh there is nothing in it, so i dont care. :)

    Woodgate - never fit
    Southgate - Too old
    Upson - Avarage
CArragher - Not a center back

So i think we should clone Bramble and have him twice as both center backs

don't see how the lad terry can not be given a starting place. probably the most impressive player in the premiership this season.

although i dislike him rio should be the other centre half, like someone else said you need one centre back who can play a little.

Maybe against poor countries but i would not want him as a centre back against strong international teams

Agreed, he deserves to be in the squad either way though

He would start at right back for me every time

Terry & Rio (as much as i hate him) should be in the middle

I hope that is for Liverpool & not England as he is not fit to lace Gary Nev's boots.

From what ive seen, Jamie is having a better season. He obviously doesnt have the same experience at internatioinal level, but the best way to gain the experience is to play a part

I think Wes Brown could take Gary Neville's place at right back in years to come. He's a quality defender, just been so unlucky with injuries in his career so far.

Ferdinand & Terry should be the partnership, don't like Campbell, think he's too big & clumsy, not as assured on the ball as either Terry or Ferdinand.
