Alan Thompson should get a call up cos he has been class for Celtic on the left, a position where England need players !

As for up front i wouldnt know who to play :spangled:

Thompson should have been playing for England for years. Playing in Scotland does England players no favours.

Agreed, Thompson is class. He's playing really well at the moment and he deserves to at least be in the squad.
I hope that the England team play like they mean it and play with heart, the only player thats seems to do this at the moment is Davey B!:)

I would play ONE upfront for a game like this. A draw gets England thru.

I would put Smith or Rooney up front with Scholes in the hole behind & pack the midfield.

Beckham always carries England like, many a time he has single handedly done a class job so im hoping he plays class in this one cos its as big as it gets !

Id say ur right about one up front cos at least then there's gonna be planety back to defend or attack if needed !

Looking forward to this game  :D

I think Beattie deserves a chance, him and Rooney up front with Scholes sitting off.

You have to be a cocky cunt to be a great striker. That puts Beattie in my third choice as striker.

Sutrton is shite... he lost out on england cos he was an arriogant toss pot and refused to play england b games ... he has no one else to blame for his international creer failure than himself....

And who says we have to play heskey if owen is injured id much rather have vasell or beattie ... you can not go to turkey after a draw they are a very good side and would btreak thru if we went deffensive with one upfront ... I think this will be the game that scholes regains his scoring touch in . My team for this would be .... robinson in nets although sven will go with calamity!... nevvile aty right back, bridge at left back... cambell /ferdinand if fit
becham, gerrard, scholes and butt ina diamond midfield , vassell and rooney up front... heskey beattie on bench !

Shearer & Sutton was nearly as good as Ferdinand & Shearer at Newcastle - S & S hated each other too when they played @ Blackburn but just got on with it

I agree, one up with Scholes behind is the best option.

But the ball HAS to stick, with whovere goes up front. In which case Vasell is a big no-no cos he hasnt got the strength. Heskey has the strength, but does he have the technique?

That leaves Beattie, Smith or Rooney, who all are very strong. All are good technically, but Smith is outstanding. Rooney has more pace and Beattie is a far better goalscorer, but the ball will STICK 90% of the time with Alan Smith, so id go for him on this occasion. Saying that he probs wont even make the squad.

Left side - Bridge LB, Cole LW. Ashley Cole is a liability defensively. And lets have some balance for once.

you appear to be remebering somthing that never was ... the only reason sutton was ever considerd international class was coz he had sheares leftovers ... his goal scoring record (apart from one decent season wi norwich) without shearer is shite he is a good player but never ever was considered the best in england . He is a fighter but not a top class striker...

And England can not defend!!!! has anyone been watchuing the recent m,atches if we sitt back were fucked . we need to givving them a threatr so rooney and vassel would be my choice to start but its more than likely goanna be old donkey boy ... lets hope hes up for it !
