apart from falling asleep for the goal i thought we played quite well... certainly not a result to be ashamed of, they worked hard, and overall while we were the better team we let them back into the game, and that was enough to draw the match. nevermind.

We'll be lucky to win any games in portugal if that performance is anything to go by!

we werent that bad... it was a nothing game, the japanese were up for it, we looked decent bar a 25 minute spell during which they punished us, as i say, not ideal but not the end of the world.

I saw the goals and I say they were both down to a bit of bad keeping. The Japanese keeper should of caught it better. and James unfortunately got megged. Still we can beat the French Fries.

Typical friendly performance by England, good first 30 mins and then cant be arsed. So i wouldnt read to much into it and base how we are going to do in Portugal.

The one thing that needs taking from the match is Scholes needs to be dropped as he didnt perform again. The a flat midfield can be played which would make it more balanced

You should play 5 in the midefield against France, either drop Scholes and play Rooney deeper or drop Rooney and play Butt in the holding roll with Lampard and Scholes as your two attacking midefielders supporting Owen.
