    England in turmoil

I am begining to doubt Owen will be fit for the world cup...........and his ideal replacment is Defoe who isnt even playing and therefore will be without confidence or form and possibly might not even go to germany.... The entire spine of the team is playing badly at the moment. Lamps is playing so badly for Chelsea he deserves to be dropped for Essien IMO. Rio is also having a off patch. Campbell wont play for England again..... Ledly King has gone backwards since Portugal 04... Bridge hasnt played for England he was supossed to be the answer to the RB, Ashley Cole hasnt played most of the season and hes the first choice LB. Its a complete fucking mess. The only players I am confident in are Gerrad and Rooney..... Joe Cole is too hit and miss for me but he could do it.

I was so confident we would kick ass in this tourny but now i am feeling pretty bad about our chances........ hopefully we take darren bent and he does a Schillachi

If Sven would actually take notice of these things then I think we could win it. Lampard has never performed for England, fact is, him and Gerrard simply can't play together. Gerrards by far the better player in that role so he should start. Drop Lampard and play a holding midfielder i.e Carrick.

Campbells past it IMO and rio pisses about far too much for a defender........start with Terry and carragher (no nonsense defenders!)

Hopefully A. Cole and Owen should have at least a couple of games under their belts, and if fit, they should deffo start. Owen's always came back and scored after injuries and IMO Cole's the best left back in the world.

Joe Cole on the left for me aswell, he's been by far Chelsea's best player this season and he's just what we need on the left

    :)

Someone post there England stats --- Goals, games etc...

I reckon Lampard has pitched in with some important goals, something the team probably lacks, especially with Owen missing.

yeh he has at times but him and gerrard have never put on a really good performance together. all i'm saying is gerrard is a far better player in my view and would start with him with carrick alongside him:)

Im worried about Owen being fit. Its a massive gamble aking him with the little football he's played. Te fact that Defoes not playing isnt good either coupled with the fact that Bent hasnt had any expereince at International level.

I think if were taking Owen we need to take 5 strikers incase he gets injured again and id take Owen, Rooney, Bent, then two out of 4 from Crouch, Beattie, Defoe and Ashton.

The lack of quality forwards in this country is a joke.

Left backs also a massive problem, Cole & Bridge not playing, one thing that was mentioned elsewhere is that if they are injured we could always take Franck Quedrue as he hasnt played for France but has got citizenship now having been her for the amount of time hes lived and worked here but would we want a Frenchman playing for us?

Defensivley im not worried besides left back, Nevilles always gonna put in a solid performance, and Ro hasnt been playing well bt he hasnt been playing badly, and Terry & Carragher wont let us down.

Central midfields annoying, we have two of the best ni there but they arent working, im with Daz, i'd rather have one or the other with Carrick but i'd opt for Lampard over Gerrard simply because Gerrard never recreats his league form or goal scoring tally for England where as Lampards scored 10 times for England.

lampard 10 goals in 38 caps, for a central midfielder who has only recently come to form last couple fo seasons, he is one of most important players
2 goals in his last 3 games

lets see gerrards goals to games ratio

6 goals in 40 games, last goal was against azerbajan a year ago

    hmmmmmmm

    That was kinda my point.

Lampard is the new Platt. When you don't 2 proven goalscorers playing up front you will need him.

I'd take Ashton and Crouch as back up strikers and leave bent behind. He dosent look like he's up to playing for England tbh.
