Too many London clubs/venues closing - Turnmills, The End, Astoria etc.

    Thats a wierd one .... gutted :(

No idea why its closing mind - the place always seemed really busy every time i went, surely its not to do with numbers through the door?

The smoking ban seems (to me) to have made no difference to the dance music scene - so i cant see it being that. And Mr C owns the place (yeh?) so i cant see it being about rent or costs?

..... would be interesting to know just why its deciding to 'End'.

    :(

You could look at this as some kind of turning point for the club scene - with London as a barometer ....

.... Maybe expensive to run venues, with DJ's costing a small fortune to hire, and costing the punters a lot of wedge ..... might be a dying breed?

How The End can close and Fabric open a second venue, in a shite location (with a massive capacity) is beyond me.

I'd much rather The End stay open.....

    Not really.

The Olympic site is in Stratford, which isn't really a hotbed for nightclubs.

now its been a while since i was at school, and geography is not really my thing, but has the green house effect really destroyed that much English coastline?

    boooo

Most of the clubs round there shut down because of the Kings Cross/St Pancras redevelopment.
