Am going up in a few weeks for the weekend.

Where's best places to stay central for everything and not too expensive?

I have had a look on some site but would prefer to see where people have stayed before n what they liked/disliked.

    Cheers

Aww John, I loved Edinburgh. We stayed just out of the centre but still close to loads of stuff. Stephen might remember the name, if not better advise you. The shops are class, loads of stuff and things to see/do. My faves were the zoo, botanic gardens and I think it was either a science or visual/lights museum. I'd love to go back sometime :)

edinburgh is ace - i would imagine most hotels and b&bs are quite expensive - however the centre isnt to large

its split between the old and new town - new town is great for night life, old town great for tourist.

ben stevens is playing up there in a few weeks if you want me to get the details

We stayed in Hostels when we went up for the Fringe festival. They were bang in the city centre and were only 20 quid a night.

Am not going up to see any DJ's nor chew me dial off in Scotland, for a change some may say.

Just the Fri / Sat back home the Sun afternoon i reckon.

I think the more central yet not too much ££ the better.

 in that case you will have a fantastic time just enjoying edinburgh :)

dont know what hotel to recommed though sorry

if i am going away anywhere i always go on yell.com put in B&B or hotels closest to the station then ring round to check price and availabilty

some of them will have a direct link to their website on yell as well to give a better idea

and waverley street station is smack bang in the centre the other, haymarket (i think) is further out of town - so if you did do the yell thing stop with waverley station for central hotels
    :D

sorry i cant be more help

Id second that recommendatiom, me & Clare stayed there last year, it was well smart and not as pricey as some. Sound location as well on the Grassmarket, 2 mins walk to the Castle

You want to do the Ghost Walks up there mate, we did one that Most Haunted have visited a few times, in the underground city vaults, was pretty creepy like. The castle is worth a look as well, if nothing else just for the views at the top. Is loads of history there too, fairly interesting most of it defo worth a look.

You should get yaself down to Ben Stevens while youre up there mate, thought that would be right up Hollie's street?? ;)

Was just gonna go for a meal n that the Fri n out on the lash the Sat or other way round, i might go to the Zoo and see some of me family/mates while am there ;)

That Apex had a unbelievable deal on the food in the resturant when we were there. Was 2 courses for about a tenner or something but the food was amazing. One of the best meals I have ever had.

There is a cool swimming pool you can use as well next door.
