Ebay Bid 'Snipers' I've seen and head about these and just downloaded a free one before. However, the program/browser asks me to enter the ebay password and username. I'm not keen at all about entering my password anywhere other than Ebay. Does anyone else use a bid sniper and if so, which one and how do they work? What's stopping some dodgy algerian getting my password etc when i click submit?
theres no way on earth id give my ebay username and password to some bit of software other than on the ebay site itself.
Aye me too until I know how they work. I know they're becomming popular because it's basically an aternative to using the 'enter highest bid' option on ebay. Instead the program monitors auctions and auto-bids for you in the last few seconds to avoid other people bidding higher later on. At least that's what i think they are. There maybe be other things they do but i'm defo not entering ym ebay password unless i know of a safe version. I only need it for a pair of flip flops that are ending whilst i'm at work tommorow
my dad uses one - it's ace, automatically bids with 5 seconds to go, but you can change the sniping time. They work by taking commission from the price of your item.
hate these things. They cost me a set of mint BBS alloys that i was winning for only £150. Under 1 minute...im winning, class.... Came back and id been owned by a fiver. NOT Happy.
Just started using one of these and its class like, not dodgy at all as mentioned above. Check it out if yer interested, you get 3 free snipes to TRY IT
If you can't beat them join them. If you don't fancy waiting about for a last minute super ebay bid then go to http://www.auctionsniper.com as I think they give you a free trial.
+ Whoever has the highest max bid wins! Because its web based you dont even need your computer switched on and they claim their servers are something like 20 miles away from ebays servers so there is less chance of yer bid not making it in time. They recomend using 7 seconds max at ebay peak times and 5 seconds non peak. Theres loads ot tips on the site which can be found HERE
