Dyer & Bowyer Newcastle duo Lee Bowyer and Kieron Dyer have cleared the air on their fight at the weekend as they await their punishment for the brawl against Aston Villa. The pair were sent off for getting involved in a fight with each other during Newcastle's 3-0 defeat to Aston Villa at the weekend. The duo made a public show of shaking hands at the club's training ground on Monday as the club look to bring an end to the sorry matter. Following a meeting between the two players and manager Graeme Souness, chairman Freddy Shepherd is preparing to issue statement. "It was all regrettable," said Souness as Dyer and Bowyer shook hands. "I can assure the fans is that we will be focused on trying to do our best between now until the end of the season. "We have got everything to play for and the important thing is that we put this thing behind us and concentrate on trying to win a trophy for this football club. Souness insisted that the player's are now talking again and have even laughed about the incident. "They have been speaking over the weekend and had a laugh about it - they regret it," he added. The Newcastle boss also confirmed the club had lodged an appeal over Dyer's sending off, claiming he did not throw a punch. "We have appealed on behalf of Kieron," he said. Newcastle will find out later this week whether Dyer will join Bowyer in being suspended for the next three domestic games - which include the FA Cup semi-final against Manchester United. Souness insisted that the club had no plans to sell either playing and when asked whether they would be staying, he said: "Most definitely."
I am sure all the Newcastle fans will be delighted to hear that the two of them have been laughing about the incident that has totally embarrased the entire club on a world scale.
I was laughing about it all weekend I thought it was very funny. I was more gutted about losing the match.
I wish to put into context the words I used this morning when interviewed live on Sky Sports News whilst we did the photocall with Lee and Kieron. "When I said the players were 'having a laugh about it', I did not mean the seriousness of the incident, which cannot be understated, I was meaning the implication put out by certain members of the media that the two of them had been at loggerheads for a long time and it was that which had sparked the incident off._ Everyone at Newcastle United knows that this is completely without foundation, on the contrary, the players get on very well together, and that's why the two players were having a laugh about it, whilst at the same time fully appreciating the seriousness of the incident. "Of course I cannot condone the incident in any way whatsoever, hence the extremely firm action the Club has taken against Lee Bowyer
I was more gutted about the loss than them rucking. You would be angry & that would do what.... make you send a text to the Echo or ring Legends or come on here & post your anger fuelled comments. 3 off, 2 pens against us, players fighting with eachother sometimes you just cant make it up man
i would angry and would want both players sold. Bowyer is total lunatic and how many chances has Dyer had already, cash in spend the coin on sum new players. Best nights viewing ive had for a long time on Saturday long may it continue @ St James. I think its fooked u up for both cups and your season is finished.
I would sell Bowyer because I dont rate him that much, I think we have to keep Dyer as we need his pace. I think we saw with Sheff Wed when they were hounded to sell Di Canio it makes your team worse & others teams better. Look at Fergie did he sack Cantona over the kick? No. Did he sell Paul Scholes for refusing to play in Leage cup game? No. Did Liverpool sell Carragher for chucking a coin into the crowd? No We were 3rd favorites for the FA Cup anyway & you already had us beat in the FA cup game anyway & there bans dont make any difference to UEFA Cup games.
Yeah they dont give a fuck, they should be shown the door, but Newcastle is a laughing stock at the moment and there keeping them both so they just wont learn.
so much for Souness sorting the dressing out the circus has never left St James talented players are ruining your club, Bellamy, Dyer, Bowyer and Bramble have ran amoke doing wot they want. KEEP IT COMING I SAY!
