    DVD Backup

I just got my Incredibles DVD back off my m8 that cost me £15 last week and its sctatched to hell. I've decided I'm gonna backup my dvd's from now on but unfortunately the dvd is 7gb. How can I backup just the video (none of the extras or menu screens etc etc) either straight to 4.7gb dvd or to my hdd? ie what program? I got one free with my new motherboard but it looks a bit crap and doesnt let u copy anything thats copyrighted.

    Cheers!

you need dvd decryptor to extract it to your hard disk. you then need to compress/convert it to fit onto a SL disk - unless you've got a dual layer burner

I use DVDShrink to shrink them to put on DVD, if its still to big it lets you re-author them so u can get rid of things such as subtitles, extras which your not really arsed about

    Re: DVD Backup

Just put the DVD in your drive right click on the drive it's in, choose explore, and it will give you all the files on the disc just copy the files you want onto your hard drive easy as that.

That's very clever of you - doesn't solve his problem of getting 7GB on a 4.5GB dvd though does it?

I totally forgot i'd ever posted this. :chill:

I'm just checking to see if i have a dual layer burner or not. Then i'll be getting DVD Shrink.

In reply to Xanda.. I seen all the different files but I'm not exactly sure which ones I need and which ones I don't. Do u just go for the biggest video file or something?

I've never copied a dvd since i got my burner about 5 months ago only made compilations.

Cheers for the help anyway peoples.
