    Driving lessons

This is my last car post, whats a decent price to pay and a repuatble school to learn with?

I've been quoted everything from £10 - £30 an hour.

ps. Amy/Fidds I am not baiting and there is no racist content in the above post.

I went with an independent instructor who advertised in the back of the free Gateshead Herald

Was only £6.50 an hour. That was about 8 years ago though!

Don't think it matters if you go with a reputable/big company or just an unkown independent, as long as you get on with the guy teaching you. Have a few with different people/companies and see who you like best.

I used Discover Driving about five years ago. I would definitely recommend them.

I hate learning to drive and that's the only reason I failed three times.

My mam charges £50 for the first 5 lessons, and can do further discounts on further block bookings. I think it's about £15 thereafter but I'm not completely sure :fart:

Aarrggh I really need to learn to drive.

It's been my new years resolution every year since I was 17 (now 21) and I'm putting it off because I completely resent the idea of spending something which a) I will hate and b) I will be shite at.

I went with the AA. Brilliant instructor, good -6mnth old cars, a little pricey but I found them to be really worth it.

An intensive test really relies upon your ability to take things in all at once. If you're the kind of person who knows you're gonna be shit etc then it may not be the best idea to go with an intensive.

If I were you I'd get about 5-10 lessons spread over a month. While you're doing these lessons book your theory test, get that outta the way. Then book your practical test. keep getting the lessons you already paid for and then get about 10 lessons in the week before your test (2 hours per day).

It's no good getting one lesson a week. You waste loads of money donig this.
