    Dream Promise Music Policy

Just wondering what everyones is... i.e. what music in the two rooms, which sort of dj's etc.

    Mine would have to be

Main Room: Uplifting through to Hard Trance - Armin Van Buuren, Eddie Halliwell, John 00 Flemming, Talla 2XLC, etc.

Back Room: Hard House/Hard Trance - Eddie Halliwell, Rob Tissera, Nick Sentience, Lab 4

I always say how much I love the always room and I do - but it just seems like a mini dig... I think I'd spend a lot more time in it if it had a much harder music policy... I think promise would make a terrible hard house club... but a hard house backroom with a trancey feelo with it in my eyes would suit promise and give me somewhere to stomp :D

Think the main room is near perfect though... just needs a lazer :p

id have to agree, with a nice slice of progressiveness when the third room opens, and djs such as tony h (weekly) nigel dawson, james zabeila, tyrant ect.

now that would be awesome three rooms with different but totally rocking music + djs
    :p :D

    Mine would have to be:

Room1 Proggy Trance through to Uplifting Trance (including lots of dutch/german DJs): Tiesto, Matt Hardwick, PVD, Blanks & Jones, Johan Gielen(even though he does some hard trance too)

Room2 Hard Trance and Bouncy Hard House: Eddie Halliwell, Tidy Boys, Ian M, Andy Farley, Lashes, Captain Tinrib

but I dont like having two wicked rooms, coz I never know which one to be in!! :D

Need that teleporter so one half of my body would be in room 2 and dancing to that, and other half would be dancing to room 1 stuff!!:D

i think it should stay the way it is!!!but with maybe the always room playing a bit more commercial....upstairs at crasher and funkysential etc are great nights int hemselves cos its daft house music where everyone goes crazy, not a cool competition!!!

i fink hard house is not the best idea, whether it be upstairs or this new fangled 3rd room!!!

actually, when i think about it it isnt a bad idea...

i dont think it would suit promise at all but it may change promise into a better thing!!!!adding that something extra.i know a lot of people who having hh would attract to nights they normally wouldnt bother with!

i just thought it might take something away from the main room maybes, and may also push the main room a little harder, and i personally think its perfect now and wouldnt like to see it do that yet, until it needs changing!!

Thats my thinking too daveamus :D

I also wouldn't want sundissential in the backroo too... I'd want promise in the backroom... I think where the always room fails is its trying to be another shindig (super cool and all that in a small smokey room) it's never going to work... I know all my "cool" shindig mates feel out of place in promise... I also think all my sundissential mates would feel out of place with red and yellow mops in promise.

I think where a hard house backroom may work in promise... is a filthy hard dank room, like Trade but without the sweaty topless (slightly toned) gibbons....

The always room is a dirty little back room in my eyes  and will never be a cool seductive funky room... I think it would suit hard house to the t as well as attracting a new and fresh crowd.

Every week you hear someone moaning newcastle needs a good hard house night.

it definatley would attract more people, imagine how excited dave would get with hh upstairs and girly trance downstairs!!me too for that matter, i enjoyed gk being able to wander into hh occasionally....but it should be girly hh too, lovely bouncy cartoon stuff, cos even i like a bit of that!!

so if the 3rd room opens, hh in always!!!!then funky dafty house(not the cool denim shuffle house)upstairs!!

i know a few people who were more of the shindig crowd who used to go to promise just for the backroom but now feel like they cant have a good time in there so travel elsewhere in the country for a good night!!it would be nive to have them back!

that would be awfull, i would have to run up and down all night!!!

yeah most of them do like trance and hard house, and they should be the 2 main rooms then!!but with the 3rd room why not do the funky thing, then everyone will be happy!!

I think this is the split:

When promise was a progressive night it was deemed cool by the diggers but not as cool as the dig, so it would always take a back seat.. Now that promise is branching out and finding its own two feet, it is losing its baby brother image.

The cooler diggers I know love funky house and think progressive is cool... however these aren't the mass of promise punters, they used to come to promise when it was proggie as a firday night out, saturday was always the night they looked forward too.

Now promise is a trance club, this minority of people have stopped coming - but a new crowd is taking in its place... much more trancey and fun loving... I know that the majority of folk I know that go to promise like hard house...

I think promise punters are people who don't take themselves or their music seriously, they are there for a good night out...

I thinks this is why hard house would suit the club.

The "cool" diggers who came for the funky stuff... no longer come to promise... as its no longer progressive, I don't think hard house would lose people from the club as most people come for the trance... but I do think it would attract a new crowd.

    and thats what i said!!!!

but i definatley know for a fact it would attract more people, but also know it would push more people upstairs, which is what me and smart e were just talking about, so its a balance really.

perhaps one way would be to not get the biggest names upstairs, or if you do, get the playing times right so they dont clash(htat probably isnt possible is it!)

sounds good to me, i like the Always room but i'd prefer it to be hardhouse to be honest.

the trouble is we would lose all the cool as fuck funky house people with mullets and nice jeans!! o well, we'd have the cybers instead.....

But if you don't get the bigger names the new punters wont be attracted

I think where you'll never have the problem is - the always room isn't big enough to hold 1200 people, so once its full its full.

In my eyes a bursting hard house room upstairs with a busy main room is better than an empty always room and half full main room.

I think in newcastle trance will always be bigger than hard house (nights like pull just didn't pull the crowds)... the trance room was far busier than the hard house room at GK... SSNE seems to of been the old HH night in the toon that attracted the numbers, but it was never as busy as promise on a busy night.

Don't think Hard House will ever take the focus off trance, but it may attract more people to the club.

We've more or less lost all the cool mullets anyways... you can count the ones that are left on two hands
