I've had Cubase and Reason for ages but everytime I tried to have a go I gave up because they were juts too complicated.

Eventually I sat down with Cubase and started to write a tune and for my first go I was pretty pleased with it. Like someone mentioned before, it does sound like an amatuer tune but I'm still not certain about using all the filters and stuff so once I can get my mate to give me a few pointers hopefully that'll make a big difference.

When I get round to it I'll put what I've got so far on the net somewhere so I can get feedback on it, not sure that it'll be to many peoples tastes on here though, its a propa dark-progressive-breakbeat kind of thing.

My mates always use them both, running Reason through Cubase, my computers shite though and I just started with Cubase. I reckon it's a lot more basic with not as much stuff 'on the surface' to confuse you but still everything that you need.

I reckon E-jay was made to look like cubase, its a lot more like dragging and dropping than Reason from what I remember.

Just found this on another messageboard, I reckon the people replying to this guy know what their on about a bit more than me. Might be worth keeping an eye on to see if anymore stuff of intrest comes up. Its a canny board for that kind of thing, shit loads of people who really know what their on about. (not that I'm saying people on here don't!)
