    DJ's hammering their own tunes

    Some DJs have a sizeable proportion of their sets consisting of their own productions and remixes.

    Are you a fan or not?

    Some people used to give Sasha s*it for playing Xpander last tune all the time. If you've made a tune that good, I reckon you're entitled to play it however much you want.

    It would be pretty bad crack if they didn't! Why make a tune you wouldn't want to play yourself! :lol:

    I love playing something that I've produced alongside Nick Adams under our Deep, Down & Dirty guise, especially just seeing the sort of reaction the track gets. I suppose a lot of DJ's do it for that reason.

    But when you make a tune/remix like;

    Marco V 'indicator' or 'Loops & Tings'
    Paul Van dyk 'For an Angel'
    Groove Armada 'Superstylin' etc

    You kinda feel robbed when you go and see them and they don't play it IMO.

    I went to see a Clash tribute band at the stage door last night and left a little disappointed when they didn't play 'Rock the Casbah' :(

    Some DJ's lend themselves towards playing a more 'own production' set .... Although other more mainstream jocks sound naff when they just cane all their 'peak time' tunes one after another (Tiesto, Ferry etc..)

    DJs now also pull punters based upon their Productions and releases, so the crowd probably want to hear their tunes...

    I don't think many producers would put something out they thought was utter gash. After all, it's their reputation at stake! :p

    Depends if they are any good or not I guess.

    Dont think people minded him playing Xpander, it was that shite 'Cowpander' which people didnt like. It is dreadful tbh.

    i think djs should play the tunes they want to play. when i dj, i play what i want to play, why should it be different for big names. djing should be a passion, not just a job!!
