    Nerd. Mine was 7500 but i put the word count as 8500 and included 40 pages of graphs.

    And got a shit mark to go with it.

    only have to do between 5-8000 :D

    effort!!

    Mines a computing dissertation, so it's not the same as other courses where by the whole thing is literature review & evaluation based.

    One section (4000 words) is a academic research and thats worth 20% of the overall mark

    the rest of the report is worth another 20%

    Had to develop a web application - thats 25%

    Have to give a presentation/viva - 15%

    And project management/control is 20%

    Already got the control marks in the bag too :D

    I did 14000 in about 12hrs over night and handed it in the next morning. :lol:

    Failed though but :(

    its a waste going to uni for 3yrs + and failing surely

    I've just finished my first draft of just over 12,000 words and it's taken months, a little at a time. I've got Dad's receptionist reading it for me right now :)

    Mines limited to 8500 words. Not sure if thats :cool: or not yet as I've only done 200.

    What are you studying? I'm studying Human Biology and mine was limited to 30 pages with 1.5 spacing, plus the title page

    I had the advantage of being able to touch type at around 60wpm, which sped things up a bit.

    Masters in research in medical and molecular biosciences. 8500 is quite a lot when you think that most of those sentences should be referenced, and you can use a ton of diagrams, but my mum was saying that her masters dissertation was over 50,000 words when it was submitted :eek:
