    Re: Dissertation

 fear not kyle.. i started mine 2 weeks before the hand in date, with no idea what the fuck i was doing, subject wise, then blagged a three week extension..

had 4 hours kip a night till it was done, my was knee high in tab ends, 24hr junk food and.. books.. i was in bits near the end, especially considering as i had a 4 hour exam the day after hand in... still managed to get three first class grades for my finals... and write 15k words...

the dissertation was graded a 2:1 but the second marker was slighly more 'suspect' to how i had written it, so it came out with a 3rd  - deducted 11%!

ive got a book called - 'how to write your geography and environmental science dissertation' ...if you want it, its yours.. im in town today and tommorow..

    whats your title?

I wrote mine in four days, on a subject I previously knew nothing about (someone said they would help me but didn't), and got a 2:2.

I did pretty much 80% of mine over the last 3 days.

Got 59% for it, and just missed out on a 2:1 overall. But i got a job straight away, didnt like it much, and now im in a much better one. So it all ended fine!

Still i dont recommend it!

Loads of time Kyle. Just gotta work your bollocks off for two weeks now!

The worst thing about doing stuff like that is that I get a sense of "everythings going to be just fine" and end up having a wank instead.

haha. glad i dont have to do one of them again. i was stupid and decided a 7 month study was appropriate so it was ongoing for ages, but was handy as i didnt get in a rush with it. got pissed the night before hand in tho cos it was finished a day early.
for the 2 months before hand in all i can say is thank fuck for :chill:

I chose not to do a dissertation, I knew I wouldn't do it until the week before so opted to do another module with one optional essay and an exam, very very thankful I did that, all my mates are well stressing!!

Wow- you lot who did your dissertations in a matter of weeks can I justask... how?! Did you have to do empirical research?
Mine's a Social Work degree and so I have to actually go out and interview people. I'm just writing my proposal at the moment and I've got to the 'timescale' bit and am now thinking I've bitten off more than I can chew! I dunno how I'm gonna get all this done by May 15th 2006!

    Its only October dude!!!

I started mine properly in Feb - hand in May.

Built the clublife website and wrote it all up - wish I had chose something else though as was fuckin hardwork.

Used to just sit in my kegs from 9am through till 1am. Fuckin hard time.

Got a 2:1 though so it was worth it.

    Good luck!

We have to start now- we have to do some research on our placements, and we finish placement at the end of March so all the data needs to be gathered by then. Am just having a bit of a panic cos this has to be a really good piece of work - it's a Masters degree and I struggle to keep up with that level most of the time anyway!
Having said that, I have done a dissertation before so at least I'm not going into it blind so to speak, and we have about 7 weeks to write it up!
Thanks for the good luck tho- I'll need it!
