i got one jimmy - probs the one you've seen Panasonic NVGS1 or something. make sure one u buy has a firewaire (IEEE1394) socket for digital video download - u might need a card for your Pc but they're only £15...

ignore still photo features, they're as bad resolution as photo cameras - stick with a seperate digital still camera

    scienctifically speaking.

some i looked at only had s-video or USB. Can still get digital video via USB, not at the same frame rate or something...

What kind of wank dv cam has USB 1 only? heh.

Anyways, if it's for bright light work it doesnt really matter - wheere the big boys differentiate themselves is under poor conditions. At slightly low light levels ( indoors at night etc ), a cheap camera will become grainy as hell.

Canon MV range is good, imo - I have the 630, does the job fine for me.

I went for the Panasonic something 11B, it was £299 and had alot more than the canon one we were looking at including a better zoom and stuff, the difference between the lenses on the two was next to nothing and the canon was a canny bit bigger.

    Patriot - Cheers
