Dieting I am currently shedding some weight (quite succesfully might i add) by basically not eating through the day and not eating much at night. Now certain people are telling me this is stupidly dangerous, can anybody shed some light on this very grey area of mine? :lecture:
It is very dangerous to stop eating consideranly Ive lost just short of a stone in a month, thats by changing what I eat, simply have a slimfast milkshake for breakfast, which is surprisingly filling, then a light lunch, normally a salad, then a decent meal for tea, tends to be chicken or steak. Losing weight by not eating surely cant do you good, you body wont be getting the vitamins and things it needs, try doing it a controlled way
it is quite dangerous to not eat enough food, but it depends on how little you are eating, as long as you are getting your recommended daily amounts of vitamins and stuff you can eat a little as you want.
By not eating you'll slow down your metabolism so will burn less calories and so will be wasting your time and making yourself ill in the process. Consistant excercise is the best way by far.
By not eating you make your body think its starving, your body will then start storing fat so dieting that way can have the opposite effect your hoping for!
what i normally do is not to eat at work and have some toast at nightime, at the most a piece of chicken. I am getting physio on my ankle at the minute due to a long term injury so i can really excercise as it keeps on going A 22yr old lad depressed over weight!!! madness:spangled:
I was told if your body starves the fat that has been stored starts being used, hence the pangs i get in my stomach.
Hmm i duno i might be wrong but the fact is your doing yourself more harm than good not eating properly!
doesnt it mean that when you do actually eat you body will be used to not having anything so it will make you put on more weight? even if i wanted to diet i dont have the willpower to not eat, i love my chips and junk food far too much
you need to eat small amounts regular. Breakfast is a very important meal as it kick starts your metabolism and the rest of the meals keep your metabolism going thru the day. Eating nothing will slow your metabolism right down and then your body will try to hang onto any stored energy it has i.e. fat thus making the loosing weight process slow right down. Take it from me i know what im talking about i have done 2 bodybuilding competitions and come down from over 18 st to just over 15 st with the end result of about 5% bodyfat... Eat high protein meals and cut down on your carbs. If you want a diet PM me...
Are you excersising ? (sp) diets are all good and fine but if you excercise as well then youl feel better . do a well planned out healthy diet not just stopping eating through the day just cut it down . eat till your full instead of eating to clear the plate like i used to .
Ive lost half a stone by eating right and not drinking alcohol for 2 weeks Been doin an hours uphill walking on the treadmill each night
the problem youll get is that at first youll lose the weight but because your body learns to deal with less food if, when you start eating properly again your body will see the extra food and then store it as fat instead of using it up as before !!!
I tried eating next to nothing and lost weight but as soon as i started eating normally again I put the weight back on. Now I just make sure I eat in moderation. 3 meals a day and excersise at least once a week and I don't put on weight now.
they say the key is eatig frequently but small portions and not eating too much shit. when you eat your metabolism kicks in so you should continue to function properly just your not over feeding yourself. couple that with some physical exercise and you should notice somet within a week or 2
I was trying to hold my tummy muscles in for ages to try and make them tighten up i thought if it works for the muscles you wee with after youve had a baby it might work on your tummy
Or alternatively resist the temptation to devour that chocolate fudge gateau by simply not buying it in the first place.
