Mike Ashley is sick of waiting for Football Manager 09 to come out so hes decided to take a more hands on approach.

He's apparently now having a meeting with Mike Ashley and Co cos he isnt happy with the transfer goings on?

He apparently didnt turn up at the training ground this morning apparently and now this, i dont even think its worth giving Dennis Wise the job if owt bad is gonna come from it.

I hate to say it but i have seen this coming from a fucking mile off.

I was totally optimistic about the Arsenal game on the weekend, and then I heard we'd sold Milner to Villa and, from that moment on, I thought it would be a 5-nil'er...

Not that the money we got for him isn't great or that we were relying on him, but as history shows the slightest bit of unbalance in our team and we fall to pieces. Not just on the pitch either.

It devastates me that after what I thought was a good, all be it unexpected start to the season, that shite like this once again gets in the way of our Premier League campaign.

As a massive Toon fan I would be gutted if Wise was given the job and Keegan given the chop.

Newcastle manager Kevin Keegan has been fired after holding a meeting with club owner Mike Ashley.

The 57-year-old, who walked away from the Toon in 1997, had been called to a meeting with Ashley this morning.

Rumours began to circulate early this morning after Keegan's hoped for three or four major signings failed to materialise as the transfer window closed at midnight on Monday.

Sportsmail online understands that Keegan did not take training this morning and that police have begun arriving at St James' Park and the club's training ground fearing a backlash from fans.

The Newcastle manager was called into a 2pm meeting yesterday which club insiders described as ‘very important but not related to transfer business’ and it is believed a heated discussion took place, with managing director Derek Llambias making it clear they were not happy.

The situation has been coming to a head with Keegan stressing he needs more players, yet apparently he has been told that every player in his squad has a price.

As soon as they brought Wise in it was clear that keegan wouldn't have full control, and thats why he left first time round as the board was intefering in transfers. If he has been sacked, the arsenal game will be the last Ashley will be sitting with the fans, they'll have his life!
