delivery charges bit random, i bought somet from a shop online and when it came it was broken, so ive been in touch and i noticed a disclaimer they have is that they will not refund delivery charges, i thought that if a company has sold u an item and it is faulty upon arrival then they are legally oblidged to cover the costs associated with returningg it, as when you bought it the actually delivery of a working item is something you had already paid for? ideas?
for some reason, what you said there is confusing. isnt it the company that provides conditions for refunding delivery? eh fuck know's you'll have to ask them, what site was it? or is it too sensitive of an item?
theyre saying they cant refund delivery charges but if its found delivered in a fucked condition then surely the sale of goods act must mention somewhere that they have to pay the cost of sending the faulty good back as it was not fit for purpose in the first place
they can then go onto say that it could of happend in transit? but your entitled to your refund on the product tho for sure
yeah but if its happened in transit dont the shop have to recoup their loses from the delivery company not me? seing as tho i asked for an item which was in working order and sold a damaged one id expect that i was in the clear here
we'll see how it goes, theyve given me this form to fill in so i can return it. ill haunt them if i dont get my money back like.
also, if i want to send a package back to a company and its quite large, basically a mini fridge/wine cooler type do. whats the best company to use, for cheapness and also for recording the delivery, i think royal mail can do it but they will most likely either steal it, break it some more, charge me in gold or deliver it next spring.
go recorded delivery, but check the value they insure upto. I take it that it didn't come by recorded delivery in the first place? if it did then it should be insured by royal mail I think (though they may argue that it should have had a fragile sticker on it or something)
