    Death Proof

Well this is totally shit, the only good part is the lap dance scene. It has no story line, no character building just a simple plot and rubbish execution. But the music is good if that matters to some :chill:

Downloaded it and it was a cinema quality copy. I was really looking forward to seeing it but was dissapointed in the end. Some may enjoy it but there you go.

Watched this at work last night on the big screen and I absolutely loved everything about it.

The dialogue, the cinematography, the soundtrack.

Loved the 2 part structure, the 2nd part was fucking brilliant.

The sequence with Zoe on the bonnet in the 2nd half was one of the most tense, edge-of-your-seat sequences i've ever seen.

All done practically as well - no CGI - unbelievable.

    I'd give it a 10/10 personally like.

Maybe one of those that you have to see on the big screen to appreciate it then. I know I'll be going to the pics to watch it anyway.

Nah for Europe Grindhouse has been split in 2 with Rodriguez's Planet Terror following in a couple of months. (It's an absolute disgrace that they've done that like, it completely destroys the concept).

Going on about "2 parts" might have given the impression i watched both films, I just meant the 2 parts of Death Proof.

Won't give anything away but the Death Proof story takes place in 2 seperate time periods so the film feels like it's in 2 parts.

Scott, it looks like we like different sorts of films :)

QT loves his cinematography like yourself it seems. Loads of different types of camera views, styles etc.... Just i expected a bit too much i think. Was wishing it was more Pulp Fiction than it was.

I completely understand why you didn't like it like mate, it's very throwaway and isn't exactly layered like, say Pulp Fiction.

My expectations were really low so, I actually went in to it thinking I was going to hate it, especially with it being pulled out of it's Grindhouse context. But I ended up totally loving it.

I have Grindhouse with both films and fake trailers but it is pretty shit the copy so never bothered watching it all the way through. You can tell it was edited to fuck after they decided to split them for 1 hour 30mins each into two 2 hour films.
Always the best way to enjoy a film thinking it is gonna be shit then be blown away by it.

Ive heard nothing but bad things about this movie.

The original "concept" was a total flop in america, so to try to get more cash out of it they split it up.

and by all accounts it has no story whatsoever

I get the impression that these films are so obsessed with being like old b movies, that they hold none of the charm/appeal of old b movies.

acting was bad in bmovies because of the actual bad actors... using good actors and making them act badly just sounds like a crock of shit to me
