    This is surprising as it didn't seem that druggy on saturday.... somz after was far far far worse... does anyone know if it was a pill death or something else?

    Its not confirmed how he died yet but I have to say how fucking hot was it on Saturday! I was sweating like a pig after being in there 10 minutes.

    They always use "rave" and "ravers" out of context! makes it sound like we r in a field listening to acid house! y cant they say "club" and "clubbers" instead?

    Very true but I would say this.....

    I cannot comment on Gatercrasher as I have not been in there for a good while but talking generally I think that more money should be put into air conditioning. Alot of clubs are way too hot in my opinion.

    If we ignore the music, alcohol, drugs etc we are left with the simple fact that exercising in a hot environment for upto 9 hours can be very dangerous.

    Club operators need to insure that you can get water easily and the air is cool enough.

    I think that if you stand still in a club and you sweat then its too hot for comfort or safety.

    I must honestly say that Foundation's air con is pretty good, I've seen better but only a couple of times.


    On the drugs issue I think we need to see what the police say about the circumstances of this guy's death before we can comment however....

    Drugs can be dangerous, if peeps must take them they need to educate themselves about how to reduce the risks and deal with their fellow drug takers if they become ill, any less is irresponsible (in my opinion).

    One thing though, I wonder how many people died this weekend from smoking, drinking or eating unhealthily? It's funny how the media reports these things, they no doubt would say that the public want to hear if someone dies in a suspected drug related incident but why not give a more balanced report by telling us how many people died of lung cancer or heroin abuse on the same day?

    Any ideas Si?

    Finally (I'm gonna shut up soon) It amazes me how close knit this whole club community is, we all seem to know each other so if any of you knew this guy can I'm say that I'm so sorry you had to lose someone in such tragic circumstances. I'm sure I can speak for all the regulars on here when I say that we are thinking of you.

    Air conditioning is vital, those deaths at raindance last year were due to temprature... if you know people will be taking drugs in your club (there isn't a club in the UK that has no drugs in it) air conditioning is essential... gatecrasher is always overheated, opening fire escapes towards the end of the night isn't enough in larger clubs like the republic.

    But....

    Lately people have been going drugs crazy, you can't leave your water for fear of picking up someones ghb... Ketamine is the new drug of everyones fancy and they stupidly think its harmles... KET KILLS, ket likes pills if done wisely can be great fun - but its these fucking muppets you get at hard house clubs (ss, insomz, etc.) that piss me off - they OD on it every fucking time!

    Be sensible - if you want to take ket do so, but fucking read about the pro's and cons... don't just listen to your mates saying its very messy but very safe... just cos possession is legal - doesn't make it safe.... same with gb.

    Yep alcohol and cigerettes are killers, it doesn't make drugs safe... If your going to drop or take anything... do a little research and find out what your fucking taking... the chances of dying on a pill are very very very slim, infact almost impossible if you drink your water and your sensible about it... you can even buy a cheap home testing kit for a fiver from www.wellcoolstuff.com.

    I've heard people on this board sya retarded stuff about drugs.. I caned it hard as most people know, but I always knew what I was taking and I was always sensible about it.... anyways I'm starting to ramble.

    Just like to say thank fuck Promise isn't like this :D

    Mark pointed this out to me, but I do agree...

    There is no proof what so ever that The Republic have been in anyway negligent. There is no proof that this incident is drug related. All my comments are made about all clubs, not aimed at Gatecrasher (as I said before).

    I hope I have made that clear as day.

    I have to say I agree with most of the above posts. People overdoing it on the likes of ket and GHB (amongst others, but these seem to be the worst) will get clubs closed and ruin it for the rest of us. Know what you are doing, how it will affect you, your own limits and what to do if things go wrong. There is nothing worse than seeing a bunch of kids taking things they have no idea about just because they think it is the thing to do. Not only that, but learn how to look after yourself during the week so your body can repair itself.

    Play safe and look after each other.
