data1.msi Getting all the updates from the microsoft site when I am trying to get an office update however it won't let me go any further cause it keeps asking for the data1.msi file from the microsoft word 2000 sr1 CD. When i put that CD in, it doesn't pick the file up....done a search on hard disk and I can't find it there either.....any ideas? :spangled:
Thing is it wouldn't allow me to export mail out of outlook without it, so I can't back my email folders up, cause it's asking for the same file!
u putting the right version of the disk in? defo the same version of office u installed is on that disk? you should be able to browse to the file.
hhmmm.... i've seen that message b4, but when i've put the disk it in usually sorts it. have u browsed on the CD for that file?
It def not picking it up from the CD when you stick it in when prompted and the file is def not on my hardisk cause I've ran a search....I'll 'explore' the CD when I get in.....
Have you tried browsing through the cab files on the cd? Although data1.msi should be at D:\Data1.msi. Another suggestion - Run a fresh install of Office, then apply the update. Do it this way tho': 1, Remove Works if it's on your PC 2, Remove Office using these: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;239938 and http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;247674 3, Re-install office and update
No worries Vitally important you remove all trace of Office in the registry tho. For future reference, never upgrade office, can cause probs like this.
