Darren Bent Wtf is he doing in the England squad? He's a decent little player but hes not full England international quailty.....Makes you think, If Owen, Rooney or Defoe are injured come World Cup time just who do we have upfront? Specially with Alan Smith deciding that he would rather play a full game for Man Utd reserves than about 20 mins if that in a friendly....
Re: Darren Bent #is a good point like,,,thers bin Andy johnson, big crouchy, looks like smith has lost his place in the squad so u can just about count him out, AJ an Crouch aint got no exp at this level like,,,he cud always go back to big Emile
Re: Darren Bent AJ is injured and Smith declined. Who would you have in the squad instead of him? Teddy Shezza???
Re: Darren Bent I didnt know Andy Johnson was injured and..... Still theyre both not brilliant strikers....
id have Emile in my world cup squad every time, he comes in handy for games that you dont HAVE to win. That isnt ment to sound funny either
Like getting a draw in Turkey/Italy? Or are you being funny really? TBH I wish Newcastle had signed Bent, he's looking very decent, and I'd rather take a chance on him, than pay fuck know's how much for Anelka, until he decides he wants to go somewhere else, once again
I think friendlies under this current manager are a complete waste of time, so I'm not really bothered who's in the squad. If he'd picked him for a bit continuity between the under 21 and the senoir squad, fair enough, but it's probably just because he scored two goals on Saturday, and is a fashionable choice.
Dont beat me but I have time for a Heskey/Owen partnership, it worked at pool and for England sometimes... if we where playing a "English style" team like Denmark similar. Heskey holds the ball up well and puts himself about well (true he can be terrible on a bad day). in one of these games play Heskey for 70mins then bring on a nipper like Defo or Vassel. I AM NOT SAYING HESKEY FOR ENGLAND 11 HERE just he has a place in my England world cup squad until we get another player great at holding up the ball.
