Cheers for confirming this...... Steve Bruce was saying earlier he couldnt rule him out for this saturday as they hadnt had the scans back yet, though i believe this thread over him any day.

"The scans are very, very good," he added.

"We don't think it is as bad as first feared. He is going to have a little go tomorrow and see how it is.

"He has been working really hard today and he has had no reaction and if he has no reaction from what he has done today then he might be in with a chance for Saturday."

    Bruce

    :D

Im more concerned about losing Cana than Bent, can see him being snapped up by one of the big 4/5 the way he has dominated most of our games this season.

He could play for anyone as has been said. Word is Foxman is gutted he didnt take him to Arsenal now. I dont think he will be with sunderland for more than 2 seasons.

Big test this weekend, i hope he plays Healy and dosnt go with just Cambell in a 4-5-1. We need 2 strikers we havent got the wing play strong enuff for 4-5-1

I reckon Bent will play mate, i think its been a touch of mind games this week from Bruce against his old club. Bent has declared himself fit and Bruce as never said hes out of the game. Same team as last week except Turner back in for Mensah. :D

Agree about Cana though, you see how hes playing and cant help thinking that one of the top clubs will be in for him in the next year or two. Its up to the club to match his expectations i suppose, i cant think of a better signing in the Premiership this season personally.

Imagine how good cana would be if Arsenal had signed him as a kid like they wanted too

you cant say that pal, hes been the main man at at Marseille and was club captain for years.

He grown as a player in France and the tackling out there is as ruff as here. Hes learnt to command men and take the captains role.

Remember Essien cut his teeth in France and hes probs the best MF in the world.

This would not have happened at Arsenal theres no chance he would have been captain there or even first choice.

Hes got hundreds of games under his belt with his time in france too.

Darren Bents posted on Twitter that a mackem fan racially abused his mother at Wigan

"So we get beat by wigan and to make matters worse my mum gets racially abused by a SUNDERLAND fan. I wont stand for that"

Didnt realise darksyderz were SAFC fans. I like how DB has used capitals for SUNDERLAND it is a Pikeesq post by him.

A transfer request is something he should consider. It will be interesting to see if this gets the same sort coverage as we got for those Mido chants were aimed at him because he looks like the shoe bomber & not because he is a muzzy.

Our fans were shite yesterday like, and have been getting gradually worse for a year or so when 'big' away games come round and we take massive numbers.

I dont get to as many away games now as i did a few years back, though went yesterday and was my third of the season, and tbh think i will give these sorts of games a miss from now on when we take 4 - 5k to places like Wigan etc.

I cant knock the fans who travel week in week out to watch Sunderland, we have IMO some of the best travelling fans in the country for consistent numbers and support, though this sort of game now seems to attract the minority of idiots who dont usually travel away and some of the behaviour and chants etc were cringeworthy.

This happening to our star centre forward is just the icing on the cake really after a poor showing both from the players and fans yesterday.
