Crown Court advice??

    Crown Court advice??

    Just wanting a bit of advice really from anyone that has been to or a trail or who knows abut it....

    My court case starts in a few days but my only witness simply cant make that day, but is happy to go any other day.

    Im still going obviously but will it just get ajorned or what??

    any one know??

    Speak to your solicitor. Or get your witness to call the court and speak with the witness support unit.

    Speak to your sols who will speak to the barrister who is representing you - you have to have a barrister for Crown.

    They will put it to the judge, if it is the only witness and the reason is legit, then chances are it will be adjourned.

    Be warned - press may be there. All the daily papers in big cities have court reporters who scan the court lists daily and pop in to anything which sounds interesting.

    I don't know what your case involves, but if you have been the victim of a sexual assault or similar you are protected with life time annonimity (sp?) i.e. you'll never see your name in print in relation to the trial.

    If it is Newcastle Crown I know all of the reporters who work there, so if you are worried it may attract press attention give me a holler via PM.
