My sister took a stingray barb through her ankle in kenya.... was horrific. Someone like Steve Urwin was never going to die from old age though - he was a lunatic and I guess this goes to show just how unstaged everything was.
it was on the news this morning that a tour operator has never known anything like this in 26 years. it wouldn't have been so shocking if he'd been got by a croc or a snake but a sting ray
That's so sad I was watching him yesterday catching and tagging crocs. Totally nice bloke who was really passionate about his work. To think all those dangerous animals he encountered and he's killed by a fish. R.I.P. dude, you'll be missed.

I was snorkelling with stingrays the other week - didn't realise the stings could be fatal though RIP.
He was a legend. He got loads of kids into and caring about animals. I heard it was a million to one accident and the last fatal stingray attack on a human was in 1945. I hope Baby Bob grows up to be half as daft. Crikey.
