    Cracked Programs

    Is there a way to stop xp detecting that your using a cracked copy of a program ... ?

    Cos of late i've got a few programs that are no longer wanting to work ...

    Yeah im the only 1 who uses them ...

    I've been told its a sp2 problem ... but there has to be a way to disable it ...

    Is it only cracked programs?

    It sounds like a DEP problem.

    Right click my computer

    left click properties

    select advanced

    click performance settings

    select data execution prevention

    You can disable dep for any programs that it breaks.

    Think you have to restart for it to work.

    It depends if he has hardware DEP too - if he's using an Athlon 64 anyway.

    Tried the above but when i get to advanced all i get to select from there is visual effects or another advance tab not data excution prevention ...

    Problem is with dvd2one & dvd shrink 3.2 strange to me cos shrinks a freeware prog ...

    System : -

    Xp professional
    Service pack 1 (after a format since the prob - thought it was sp2 but still the same after the format)
    Athlon Xp2800+
    Gigabyte GA-7N400E-L Motherboard
    Barracuda 7200.7 Plus 120Gig Hard Drive
    512 ddr pc400 mem Crucial
    GeForce Fx 5700 Graphics Card

    ALL HELP APPRECIATED ... !!!

    the DEP function is only Sp2 mate,....aint in anything < SP2

    Im getting the same problem with sp1 & sp2 any ideas ... ?
