    then i get this

the chip i have obviously has 2 functrioning cores but shouldnt both cores be reading 2400+ each. the temperature coming from both cores is slightly off aswell by 4 degrees, im starting to thing one core is underclocked, opinions?

Hmm was going to say some variation is normal but that's really dropping!

I'm a bit behind with the latest processors though....it may well be by design.

I will refer this to my CPU geek mate.

Its called throttling my friend. When the cpu u isnt in demand it will drop to stay cool

monitor has fuck all to do with it.. just keep hammering delete while you turn on your pc, then by the time your monitor shows a display you will be in bios :D

Its just setting lol, its not as if his hardware is fucked.

he just needs to change the setting in bios.

Basically, what it does is regulates the cpus speed depending on how much its being stressed or how intensive programs are running.

For average browsing etc it will drop the speed to increase longevity of the chip and keep temps down.
