I did it. At The John Marley Centre for Music & Performing Arts (Newcastle College)

Started when I was 16 and still at school. Because I'd looked into it I knew I needed 4 GCSEs at grade C or above, and a relevant qualification, so I did a NCFE Access Certificate in Music Technology on a Saturday for 20 weeks.
Started BTEC National Diploma in Music Technology last September (2 year course), with the intention of natural progression from that onto HND Music Production, then the one year conversion to a BMus (Bachelor of Music) degree.
If you're over 21 though, you can do a TBCap, which is basically the 2 year ND in Tech. in one year.

Alright mate, i'm in my 2nd yr of the HND in music production at ncsl college n just wana say that there is quite a lot of group/band orientated stuff but you do get some assignments where you can make dance music. I was lucky enough to start the course the same time as lee and a few other people into dance music and the college is startin to recognise that there is other styles of music that people wana produce besides rock/indie etc and would highly recommend checkin it out :D
