Think you have to be 18 and have a passport or some other proof of address

    and your bank details

Do it via the company directly ie www.orange.co.uk you have to be 18+

    A: you'll get a better deal

B: if your credit rating is good/your on the electoral roll they wont need any ID & they'll deliver it to your house within a couple of days

    :)

its just like a loan really, as contract phones are really giving you credit on the assumption you will pay for it.

i think you might be able to do it if you get someone over 18 to be garentour... you used to be able to anyways!

if not get your parents/siblings to get you one in their name and just change it over on ur birthday!

thats what i did, but managed to leave it till i was 22 before i got the name changed, 6 years with no mobile phone bills!

I got my contract phone at 16 and my dad acted as guarentor. That was nearly 5yrs ago like but it was from o2 (then genie). My sister is 16 and going 2 try and get one from o2 too.
If your getting a contract phone, get it off the net, you pay less because you dont get the customer service from a shop - it's all done online or over the phone (premium rates ususally).

www.o2.co.uk have some great deals if you text a lot. x
