Conspiracy started 3 years ago when Sunday Trading and 2 other dance nights came together to form a Conspiracy to put on a new years eve after club party playing trance and hard dance at Rockshots. The other two promoters pulled out at the last minute which left me with a Conspiracy of just one. But people liked the name and it stuck. The last two New Year parties were sold out and everyone had a fantastic time. We also tried some all day dance events during the summer but we were up against Sundissential so they were a bit of a wash out. You can get the full story on Sunday Trading's web site. Click on history. Any way this year we have scoured the town for a venue and I'm very happy with our choice. More details to follow.
A bit more detail is now available. Conspiracy will run from 9pm on New Years Eve to 9am New Year's Day subject to licence, at a venue near monument metro. We can accomodate just over 200 people from 9pm to 2am, which will be strictly controlled for your safety. At 2am we will have a second room which can accomodate another 100. The ticket price is not yet set as there is still a lot to sort out. Please note that we do have the economies of scale that other venues will have and I always believe that people working for us on New Years Eve should be well paid. This will be reflected in the ticket price. The main room will do what we have always done best in the past and that is start off with a warm up and progress through trance, hard trance etc and some hard house to finish off. The DJs are yet to be confirmed. Room 2 will be "New York Underground" proggy, housey, funky and altogether a bit lighter than the main room. DJs are yet to be confirmed. My aim for the night is for it to be intimate, personal (everyone will receive a new year clubbing gift), well decorated with projections, visuals and unique for Newcastle. There will definitely not be a dress code. Glowsticks will be welcome if that's your thing. It's a party for all to enjoy so clubbing snobbery will be outlawed.
