Concern about Roeder's persuasive skills In fairness, it's prob more to do with the fact that Newcastle have proven themselves to be unreliable to players who want to win trophies, but Roeder's signings bar Duff, and inability to persuade players like Woodgate and trezeguet makes me a little worried. I mean, Sibierski? Was good 2 years ago and now can't get in Man City team. Bernard? Was good at Newcastle and has gone downhill ever since! Rossi - Ok for 6 months, but why take a kid on loan for six months? Martins - Completely overated and overpriced. Andy Johnson would've been cheaper and better.
Re: Concern about Roeder's persuasive skills You cant write Martins off straight away he's only played part of one match, and as for Rossi he was a last gasp attempt to boost our striking options and is quite a good signing imo. Would you have prefered we hadnt signed him at all rather than have him for four months? I agree that we should of got Andy Johnson.
You can't write Martins off this early. He's a very very good player and should prove to be a very good signing. I have wondered, though, why we weren't in for Johnson. He was cheaper than Martins, and proven in England/the Premiership. The same is true for a lot of other players who have gone to similar-sized or smaller clubs over the Summer, who we could easily have been in with a shout for.
martins is not worth 10 million. he only scored 28 or so goals for inter. RVN scored more than that in one season and was sold for about 11 million ripped off ?
well we aren't gonna know till he plays are we, henry didn't do anything at juve then went to arsenal and played class, not saying for a minute that martins will be anywhere near that good, just stating a point
we'll be alright man, we've got rid of jean alain calamity so we cant be any worse than what we were when we had him
