    Computer wont Bootup

I'm tryin to sort a mates pc which wont boot up at all.

Theres power but no signal to the monitor. So i cant see anything to tell where the problem might lie.

I've changed the video card, and unplugged every device in turn but still nothing.

Now the last thing he did was play with the BIOS upped his cpu speed and this seems to be root of it all. I want to try resetting the BIOS.

If the BIOS has been buggered up would this produce the no signal to monitor?

Or is it likely he's fried the processor? They are the 2 options i've come to BIOS or CPU.....

EDIT: I've reseated the processor and there was no signs of cpu burnt out.

u need to reset the cmos jumper to default the bios..

Look in your manual to find out where the required jumper is.. then switch it from the two pins its on to the other side.. leave for 1 min then switch it over to the origianl pins..

If that doesm't work then unplug the kettle lead from the psu and leave for a few mins..

If that doesn't work then unplug the cmos bat and leave for a few mins..

If that doesn't work try a new bat..

If that doesn't work then he needs a new board.

    imo :)
