Computer Tech Wondered if anyone on here was trained to repair laptops? i would take it to a shop an will only get ripped off, if anyone on here can help id rather give you the business. basically the dc adaptor inside the laptop has been pushed inside and when i try to plug it in it just pushes it further inside. ive tried to disassemble the laptop but could not remove the keyboard or screen so that i could get the dc to test it... i put it back togethr and now the monitor doesnt work so its safe to say ive fucked it... if anyone can help let me know please, or give me an estimate of the cost, if it needs a new adaptor i know where to purchase them from. cheers
It sounds like a pretty simple fix Jamie, presuming that the connector getting pushed inside hasn't done any damage to what sits behind it. I'd go to a shop and ask them for a quote to sort it out. They may want some money to tell you how much it's going to cost to fix it but that should be less than £20. What make/model of laptop is it?
its a samsung v25 bud, im totally peeved that ive knacked it like, i think its gonna end up costing alot of money
It sounds really simple to fix if someone knows what they are doing. I can't imagine the job taking more than an hour + parts (if any are required). If someone wants more than £50 I think they are taking the piss. I'd try to find an independant shop that will do the work, try to find somewhere that has been around for a while (5 years +).
your right mate, apart from the monitor, when i was tryin to take it apart i disconnected the monitor to try nd take the shell off, i then i reassembled it, it switched on and loaded up windows but the monitor didnt work, so may have fukd a connection somewhere along the line which could cost alot, anyways cheers for your advice mate, if anytone has a friend of a friend whos a tech geek let me kno as im skint nd need to save some money, cheers does dodgy not do this kinds stuff
although breaking the dc connector doesnt sound like much if it has infact broken then its attached to the motherboard which in turn could be broke too, which im sure you can acertain isnt a good thing. But hopefully it just needs pushing back in place.
